Life Starts in Twinbrook

When we last left Trevor and Willow they had just moved into Twinbrook after graduating college and  fixing up a house they bought on the cheap.  So, how is life going for them?

As life starts anew for our recent graduates, we find Willow starting on her first novel as an aspiring writer and Trevor has started work at the hospital.  When you are just starting out in medicine the hours are long and Trevor is rarely home except on the weekends, and the time that he is home is spent reading medical journals where he can stay up to date on the latest and greatest medical breakthroughs and technology.

Willow, on the other hand, spends her days at home in front of the computer either typing away or hoping for inspiration to come.  No one wants to read a crappy vampire romance novel.   She has also spent a good deal of time fixing the appliances in the house that keep breaking.

Willow: “It was like this in college.  He spent so much time studying that he would never take the time to fix stuff when it broke.  His roommates were always out partying and didn’t do anything to help with upkeep of the apartment so every couple weeks to help him out I would go over and fix anything that broke.”

Trevor: “Willow is quite handy with a wrench.  I really have no mechanical ability.  Growing up my dad tried to teach me the difference between a wrench and hammer and was disappointed when he realized I would never learn my way around a toolbox let alone hold a screwdriver properly.  I really don’t know what I would do without her.”

Willow: “It’s amazing…he has this incredible IQ and graduated third in medical school yet he can’t figure out how to use a screwdriver.  For that matter, he can’t cook either.  It scares me when he tries.”

Partly because of a very limited income and partly because she’s a tree hugging environmentalist, Willow has taken up gardening in hopes that she can grow their own food.  Despite what people think, writing doesn’t pay all that well, especially when you are starting out.  The same goes for those in medicine.  The hours are long and the pay is horrible.  Those in health care aren’t called Community Servants for nothing.

Willow has also taken to rock collecting to get out of the small undecorated office she spends hours a day in typing away hoping to become the next best selling New Sims Times Author.

Willow: “I have become very acquainted with the city from rock collecting and I have met many of the people who live here in Twinbrook.  Everyone is really nice and I am told that most everyone has collected rocks at some time to supplement their income.  I had no idea what people were talking about until I finally asked Bobby Sergeant. Seems that a lot of the rocks that can be found around Twinbrook are worth a good deal of money. Once I found out about that and started selling them I was able to start fixing up the house a bit inside where I didn’t have to constantly fix breaking appliances. Trevor originally made fun of me for all the rocks that we had stacked up in the basement until he discovered that I found a great way to supplement our meager income. I have also found a number of seeds to plant in the garden while looking for rocks”

Trevor: “Yea…the rocks.  They were starting to take over.  I was feeling like we were living in a quarry until she sold them.  The house looks good now inside…at least upstairs, and everything has quit breaking, which is always good.  I was also worried about having Tiberium in the house.  Who knows what other problems it causes besides the weird birth defects.  Oh…and the garden is a nice addition.  I do have one complaint about living with Willow…she’s spends a lot of time in her underwear.  I wish I would have known this before moving in with her.  It’s not that I don’t enjoy the view…it’s just…very distracting.”
