Pike Children Vanished
(Sunset Valley) Many people end up moving out of Sim City in search of somewhere to live that isn’t so…strange. The strangeness of Sim City has become legendary and expected. What people don’t expect is that the quiet suburbs they usually move to have the same, or worse, strangeness. It’s as if Sim City isn’t large enough to contain the amount of strangeness it produces and it seeps into outlaying areas sneaking up on sims who have become complacent with normal-ish lives.
That cloud of strangeness that hoovers over Sim City is slowly growing and it can now be seen from the streets of Sunset Valley. The worst part is, it’s claimed the lives of two little girls…more or less.
In an unexplained freak accident Heather and Ming Pike (twins – pictured) vanished without a trace as if they never existed. In a directly related incident their three brothers (triplets) reverted back to infants. Their parents, Simone and Xing Pike are seriously confused, overwhelmed and heartbroken. “It was the triplets birthday. We were getting ready to throw a party as they were becoming teenagers and the next thing we know it’s like we were swept through time and the boys were infants again and the twins were gone without a trace. Obviously they existed, we have the photos, but outside of that, it’s like they never were.” Their mother, Simone, told us.
“Heather was a particularly difficult toddler,” Xing, their father, continued. “We were so grateful when they left that stage of life we swore we never have anymore children. It was that horrible and traumatizing.”
The Pikes are heartbroken their little girls are gone and terrified that they have to live through the triplets being babies and toddlers again. “It was horrible the first time. We never got any sleep. In fact, right after the girls were born our babysitter almost snapped. We found him many times standing in the hallway screaming.” Simone laminated. “What’s even scarier than the kids is that Xings father has come back from the dead.”
Zhan Su was originally from China. He and Xing’s mother, Simone, had a love affair that never ended in marriage. In fact, most of their relationship took place long distance, “It’s was on a visit to Sunset Valley from China that Simone got pregnant. Zhan moved to Sunset Valley upon Xing’s persistence as his father was growing old. He died just days before the girls were born.
Everyone has theories as to what happened. “They lived so close to the Landgraab Science Facility one of their experiments could have caused this.” Mortimer Goth said. “Then again, the mosquitoes that used to live there just vanished as well, this could be related.”
The current theory among the city’s science-fiction geeks who live in their basements is that the family has been effected by a temporal time anomaly, like you would see on Star Trek.
While everyone talks about what happened without offering answers or looking into the situation Simone and Xing are left to deal with their grief. “Even if I we decided to have more children…remember, this is the third time now that we have had to go through babyhood and the second time with the triplets, there is no guarantee that we would have Ming and Heather again. We aren’t sure it’s worth it. This incident has completely altered our lives.” Simone said. “Right now, we are talking about moving. We want to live somewhere where we can give our kids a normal life. Sunset Valley isn’t it.”
