Sunset Valley Fire Department Fails Citizens
SUNSET VALLEY TRIBUNE – A SWWN PUBLICATION
FRIDAY, JUNE 12
What happens when you are learning to make Fish and Chips and catch the stove on fire? You call the fire department. However, in Sunset Valley, as Robert Chase learned, if you own a fire extinguisher the members of the fire department feel they don’t need to do anything.
After spending many hours fishing Robert Chase, of 55 Water Lilly Lane, came home to cook up his catch of the day only to have a stove fire. He did what any sim would do and try to contain the flames with a fire extinguisher until the fire department arrived. Upon their arrival, the firefighter stood around and watched. He did nothing to help.
“We assure you, and everyone in Sunset Valley, that is not our policy. Our policy is to quickly put out fires where no lives are lost,” a spokesperson for the fire department told us. In fact, that was their official statement in the case.
The firefight spoke to us on condition we didn’t use his name, “Mr. Chase really looked like he had everything under control. I didn’t think he needed any help. Besides, he had a really crappy stove and the insurance company reimbursed him for the damages done.”
Robert Chase was visibaly upset when talked to him. “What is the point of having a fire department if they are going to do nothing? I am sure glad that the police department around here is better because that same night I had someone break in and trying to steal the mounted Tragic Clownfish I have on my living room wall. Officer Rose was nothing but professional and kicked the snot out of the guy. It was really kind of hot…”
When we asked him if he was refering to the fire or Officer Rose he looked embarassed and mumbled under his breath “Both” before running into the house and ignoring rest of our attempts to talk to him about the incident.
As for the Sunset Valley Fire Department, they are investigating the attitude and actions of the firefighter involved. We have been assured that “It won’t happen again.”
